Museum

mission-gardenMission Museum

The museum building was constructed in 1812 of adobe brick with a tiled roof.  Originally, it was used as sleeping quarters for the mission fathers, and for storing books, some dating back to the early 1500s.

Mission Grounds

A cemetery, indoor and outdoor kitchens, winery, water cisterns, soap and candle vats, and tanning vats for preparing cattle hides, are some of the preserved parts of the original mission complex.

Mission Gardens

The gardens include native and nonnative flowers, vines, plants, shrubs, and trees.
